Meet Ash. Ash was made from a pattern in the Knitted Babe's book . FF says she looks a little like me, in knitted form. Don't know if that is good or bad BUT she will most likely be wearing a veil until we get back from our honeymoon. It is a good thing that she has it too - otherwise she would be naked. I am at the point where there are TOO MANY PROJECTs on the need to make/want to make list AND now I am spinning.
Look Beth: Right now I have pie in the oven and a uncooperative computer at my fingertips - otherwise I would rotate the image. I took a spinning class today at Hunt Country Yarn. I brought my own wheel. Bob, my teacher said that really all I need was someone to adjust my wheel and give me some pointers. I did all of this today. The Oasis yarn is for of my Christmas projects.
Here is another shot of Ash, reclining on what will become a Fair Isle hat for Dad for Christmas. I bought this yarn today. He has a red ski jacket so I think that the colors will work.
Finally here is a shot of the Christmas flowers. They are growing!!
Happy Thanksgiving!!
Several weeks ago I attempted to post this image and thank Beth for the lovely surprise gift. She sent me beautiful roving, a lavender sachet and a really cute note pad. Thank you Beth!! I love it!!
Since then, the conference went well, the sweatshirt is completely finished, as is the scarf for FF's grandmother, a hat has been re-seamed and another scarf has been started. The sweatshirt is still too fricken short. It is frustrating because she looks so lovely on the floor or on a bed. On my body, she makes me look dumpy. The fit is bad enough that I could not even bring myself to wear her for a quick solo errand to the mall. At some point in the not too distant future I am going to order some simple turtle necks from LL bean. I am hoping that something magical will happen if I wear one of these flat turtle necks under the sweater (versus a t shirt or ribbed turtle neck). How a flat turtleneck will help her grow is beyond me, but it is my pipe dream and I am sticking with it. Beth & I gabbed today & she made my heart feel lighter when she brought up the sweatshirt mess on her own and was totally sympathetic. I am now gun shy about Marlow and have put her on hold for a spell.
Here is a group shot.
These inanimate objects had their own little gab fest while the shot was assembled. The blue scarf gave the sweatshirt a stiff talking to and commanded it to grow like the she did. The purple scarf said "look at me, I am trying to grow and we only have the attached ball left AND She wants the last six yards for oogles of fringe, but look, I am growing!!". The hat chimed in that even when it was bad and needed to re-seamed (and did not fully cooperate with the second round either!!) that at least SHE smiles when she tries me on. Then there is the spindle that is all a twitter because I may start playing with that tonight. Finally there is the earring and necklace. The earring taught me a valuable lesson.
Body cream on hands+open drain+ predawn hour+ Monday= bad things. Yesterday I put on a scented body cream & then attempted to put on an earring only to loose it down the drain. The earrings and necklace are an unusual set that I adore. I was very upset. We tried to unscrew the plastic pipes last night to no avail. Last night I even had an odd dream about the earring that involved popping my eyeball out as part of the earring retrieval process and then having to have a nail inserted via a nail gun through my ear, to hold my eye in my head, once it was reinserted. We won't even get into who had the honors of using the nail gun . .. odd. Very odd. at any rate, today I picked an odd claw-like devise at Home Depot & after thirty minutes of trying finally got the earring out. Yeah!! Wahoo!
Finally, here is a shot of the start of our home. I am so excited!! The window is part of the basement.
