Soo I have been cranking along on the Noro hat all week. Last night I finished it! tadaaa!!! Earlier in the evening I was temped to save it for use as a rather large square in an afgan. I didn't think I had enough yarn to finish the hat & I didn't want to buy more. When I got to the six inch mark I decided to try the decreases and see what happened. The pattern called for them to start at 61/2 inches. Many months ago, the fabulous Kristine from Knit Happens told me to trust the patterns. Most of the time they are right. The pattern called for 50 grams of the yarn & that's all I bought. Noo I didn't check my gauge - had I, the hat would have been one half inch longer. As you tell from the shot with the bear, there is a little wool left over. Ohh well, live and learn. I'm not overly enthralled with the color scheme. I didn't notice the flesh tones beneath the green when I bought it. I love the raspberry that goes to hot pink & then brown. The rest doesn't doesn't rock my world - except for the fact that it is done! done! done!
My schedule is really wicked starting tomorrow, so I won't post again until next weekend!
